Welcome Baby Gardner

Josephine "Josie" Adelle Gardner

November 5, 2010 2:24am
8 pounds 4 ounces
20 inches

I was in labor with Josie for 21 hours, and in the labor & delivery room for only 5 of those hours when I pushed for 14 minutes and out she came. Josie shares a birthday with 2 of her uncles, Andrew and I each have a brother born on the 5th of November 1979. I had a half natural, half medicated birth. The temporary epidural only worked on the right half of my body and they never got a chance to fix it. My doctor had 4 or 5 other patients that were laboring in the hospital already and I came in and delivered before all of them. My L&D nurse was the best and I'm so glad she got called in to work that night. She definitely contributed to me having an awesome experience and a safe VBAC.

Baby Carlsen

Tyler Austin Carlson 7lbs 14oz 10/20/10 @ 4PM exactly.  I had a problem free pregnancy until delivery when they broke my water.  We found out I had tons of fluid! (if only I could have given some of that fluid to Christa...)  All the fluid made it so that his head never settled into my pelvis.  The cord came out because his head was so high.  Its called a prolapsed cord where the cord comes out and gets pinched cutting off the baby's lifeline.  After a run to the O.R. for a emergency c-section he came out a perfect baby.  We feel really blessed to have Tyler here and thankful to live in the day of modern medicine!
