Gardening
Now is the time to plant your summer garden. Don't have one yet? It's simple. Soak the ground and let it sit over night. In the morning dig up the dirt in the area where you would like to have your garden. Go to home depot and purchase generic brand potting soil, steer manure, and vegetable seeds. Mix the potting soil and manure in with the dirt you have dug up in your yard. Keep moist until you are ready to plant. Plant seeds right in the ground or use peat pods. Pay attention to the planting directions on the back of the seed packages. Here are some ideas for things that will grow in the summer months: zucchini or crook neck squash, tomatoes (start inside), cucumbers, corn, basil, black eyed peas, green beans, bell peppers, eggplant, okra, watermelon, cantaloupe, radish, strawberries (need shade) or sunflowers.
Any questions, contact Melanie Nielson 647-2987, melanie.nielson@yahoo.com I would love to help!!!

Money Saving Tip:
When your drain is clogged with grease...pour a cup of salt and a cup of baking soda into the drain followed by a pan or boiling water. The grease will usually dissolve immediately and open the drain. To freshen a garbage disposal, run orange or lemon rinds through it.

Nasal congestion relief--try chewing on a couple of curiously strong Altoid peppermits. They'll clear up your stuffed nose.
Overnight cough relief--try Vicks vapor rub on your feet and wear a pair of socks. It's weird to wear socks to bed but a night without coughing so you can sleep is far more rewarding.

Reagan Leigh Swain
Congratulations to Jennie & Patrick Swain on the birth of their 3rd child - baby girl Reagan Leigh Swain. She was born on Jan. 15th, 18.5" long and 7 lbs. Jennie said: "It was my longest labor at 5 hours, with some minor complications, but nothing we obviously didn't survive! :) She is practically perfect with 10 fingers and 11 toes (Nope, I'm not kidding!), but hey better to have extra than not enough! Right?! :) She is a great baby! "
