Chase Bryan Hunt

Chase Bryan Hunt
Born Monday morning July 5th at 2:42am
He weighed 9 lbs. 3 oz. & was 21 inches long!

We named him after his Grandpa (Kenneth Bryan Seiter), and...ever since I was a nanny when I was 18 & fell in love with my 1st 2 year old named Chase... I have LOVED that name... so there's how he got his name...

Labor & delivery went PERFECT, the Dr. even let Justin completely deliver Chase on his own!  It was awesome!

He's a sweet baby boy-
the kids LOVE him!

We are all doing well! Happy to be a family of 6!!!!

Money Saving Tip:
Make your own buttermilk. Here's how:
1/2 cup *buttermilk
3 cups warm water
1 cup nonfat dry milk
or
1 1/3 cup instant nonfat dry milk

(*Buttermilk: to 1 cup milk, add 1 tbsp vinegar or lemon juice and let stand for 5 minutes.)

Put buttermilk water and nonfat dry milk in a big, clean jar and stir or shake until powder is dissolved. Let stand at warm room temperature until it clabbers, about 10 hours in the winter or 5 hours in the summer. After it clabbers, store in the refrigerator. Save 1/2 cup to mix buttermilk next time. Buy commercial buttermilk occasionally for a fresh "start."

Baby Dalton Grissom

Dalton Leland Grissom was born on June 13, 2010.  He was 4 weeks early, because Kathy had placenta previa. The doctor thought that it was the most safe to deliver on the 13th, because they couldn't stop the contractions that had started.  He was born via a rushed c-section (not emergency because Dustin was able to be in there when he was born, but we signed the paperwork afterwards, that is how fast it happened).  He was 5 lb 14.3 oz and 19 inches long at birth.  Because he was so early, he did have some breathing issues, and went into the NICU for 5 days, only one of which he was on breathing help.  He did awesome, and didn't loose very much weight at all at the hospital.  He is doing well at home, and Dryden loves him!  We are grateful that the delivery was able to wait until my mom was in town to help out, she was coming to help out with me on bedrest.  My mom was here for 2 weeks, and then my mother in law came in for 2 weeks also, and is still here until July 10.

I want to thank EVERYONE that helped me during the 5 weeks I was on bedrest!!!  I could not have done it without everyone's help and support.  I really did feel like I had a family away from our families with all the help we were able to get from the ward!  Thank you all!

Baby Aaron Stewart

Aaron Charles Stewart
7 lbs. 10 oz. @ 21 inches long
The Story:
I had experienced contractions off and on for a few weeks, but the strong contractions started that morning around 3 a.m.  I kept myself relaxed for the first couple of hours, but then woke up my husband to help me out around 5:00.  Using the relaxation techniques I'd learned in Hypnobirthing classes a couple years ago, I was able to stay relaxed at home until around 9:30, when we left for the hospital.  I was at 8 cm when we arrived there.  Things slowed down a bit once there, especially since Aaron had his arm wound tightly around his neck.  My doctor was unable to attend the birthing, so the on call doctor came, and was quite rude about my choice to have a natural birth.  However, once Aaron was born, he did realize that the reason he wasn't coming very easily was not because I was "pushing wrong," but because of Aaron's arm being up.  But, even with the challenging doctor, the labor and delivery were both very successful, and a wonderful experience.  It truly was amazing to work with my body, my husband, and my baby to bring a precious little boy into the world!   We were happy to welcome a healthy, alert baby into our family.  He has been a wonderful addition!  Now, he is just adjusting to having a very overly helpful big brother!

Money Saving Tip:
Never shop when you are hungry. You buy things you don't need when you shop hungry. Plan menus, make a list, and stick to it.
