Gardener's Grow Box

The Gardener's Grow-Box

For those of you who want to grow a vegie garden, now is the time to get working on it. Outside it is time to till, fertalize, and get your soil ready. Inside, it's time to start your seedlings. Because of our very warm weather here, we need to plant our tomatoes, squash, peppers, and other summer crops in late February- early March. You probaly won't be able to find starts in the big box stores until the rest of the country is ready to plant. By then, it's too late and you miss a lot of good growing time. Seeds need to sprout in soil that is 75 - 90 degrees. So just putting them on the kitchen counter is not warm enough. Keep them warm and moist and give them sun to get them ready to go outside! Questions? Call Pres. Morris or your favorite gardener.
